2021 CRUISING SEASON

ANCHORED IN BAHIA SANTIAGO

We head south for first couple of months in 2021, enjoying the pacific mainlands “gold Coast”. In March we start heading north. The summer plan this year was to go up into the Sea of Cortez. We sail to Matzalan in April to pick up Sean to sail with us across to the Baja. Slowly making our way up the beautiful coastline on Baja side of the sea of Cortez. Completely different than the mainlands tropical coastline. Just as beautiful, so many coves and islands to explore. We loved it. So much we have plans to go back for the summer of 2023.

JUNE, JULY 2021

SEAN FLIES HOME FROM LOREDO AIRPORT AND DYLAN FLIES IN FOR A 3 WEEK STAY

Dylan flew into Loreto international airport in Mid June . We provisioned and headed out to the islands. Isla Carmen, Isla Colorado, Isla Danzante. It was great having Dylan onboard. The coves are awesome on the islands, turquoise blue 80 degree water, nice sandy beaches, and mostly calm seas. We hung out a couple weeks on the islands before heading south to La Paz for the summer. The (plan) was to work our way back down the coast and Dylan would fly out of La Paz. Hurricane Enrique turned us around at Agua Verde. We headed to Puerto Escondido to wait it out. Sadly Dylan ran out of time and had to fly out of Loreto.

EL REFUGIO ( V COVE )

Mid July we get our slip in Marina de La Paz. We will keep the boat here until November. Again repairing and upgrading while being in a slip. We bought a Mexico plated Honda Pilot to make a trip to California and drive “stuff” back to the boat. We spent 3 weeks there. One week just to condense our storage into a much smaller space. We were able to get both Vaccine injections, visit with friends and family before heading back to Namahana with a vehicle full of goodies for us and the boat. While we were there we were able to have the whole family over on Kinship. Larrys 80 ft Berger he so graciously allows us to use when we are in Los Angeles. We all got to meet my oldest Daughter Kerry for the first time. She flew in and hung out for a few days. That was an emotional weekend. It was a crazy busy three weeks ending up in Temecula to chill at Kathys place before we started our drive back to La Paz.

  1. Agua Verde was a favorite of mine. It’s been too long. Need to go back. Keep having as much fun as you can! Much love to you both! Martha
