BAHIA de BANDERAS

We pull into Banderas Bay and head for the anchorage off Punta Mita , which the last time we had the boat anchored, there was only the village of Punta Mita. Now the complete point is covered with Hotels, Golf Courses, condos etc. Bummer!  As we were pulling in to anchor a big “Rock” appears dead ahead right where I had my sights on dropping the hook. Then another! Yep two humpbacks were in my spot, not 300 yards off the beach in 20 foot of water, WOW again. They moved on and we had our spot for the night . We spent the evening on anchor for the last time for a few weeks. The next morning we pull into Marina La Cruz for repairs, provisions and taco stands. The Marina is right off the center of La Cruz,a quiet laid back Mexican village with great restaurants, and an unbelievable Sunday farmers market. The town is also filled with live music everywhere in the evening. There is a large Cruiser community in La Cruz so repairs are easy and tradesman are plentiful. Many of the boats are here preparing to do the puddle jump to the Marquesas, or waiting for a weather window to go south or north. Our plan is to stay in the Bay until mid February then head south until May. We are checking out Paradise Village Marina as a possibly place to Summer the boat. Paradise Village is in Nuevo Vallarta about 7 miles from Puerto Vallarta. It is very protected, and on an estuary. It is very cool if you like living in a resort atmosphere. Swimming  pools, great beaches, excellent food all surrounding the marina. Doesn’t sound so bad. Sean and Dylan are coming to spend the week with us then we will be off to the Mexican Pacific Gold Coast. Cant wait.
